Amie Holthoefer was a nun, known as Sister Mary Delphine OP and later Sister
Amie; teacher at a Catholic School, Toledo, Ohio (1930).

Amie Holthoefer was born 11 APR 1901; died 18 SEP 1984, age 83. She lived at
home with the family until she entered the novitiate in the Catholic Church in Aug
of 1920 at age 18. She was received on 10 Aug 1921 as a Dominican Nun and
given the name Delphine O.P. after her great Aunt Sister Delphine De St. Paul
(Keusch). In 1968 there were changes made in the Church and she was able to use
her real name, Amie Marie, and wear a cooler uniform. She taught Piano before
making her canonical year. Assigned to teach eighth grade at St. Mary's, Adrian,
St. Mary’s St Clair, Michigan and Blessed Sacrament, Toledo. She was studying
nursing at Little Company of Mary Hospital when her mother died. This was just
down the street from her family home.
She spent some years in Northern Michigan where she loved to ski. She taught 5th
6th grades, Iron Mountain, Saul Saint Marie. She spent her last years at a rest
home for Sisters (in Adrian, Michigan).
