• Joseph Holthoefer immigrated to Detroit about 1853. He was a witness to a friend’s marriage.
• Casper Holthoefer immigrated to Detroit about 1853.
• Francisca Holthoefer immigrated to Detroit about 1856.
• Marianna Holthoefer was a witness to her sister’s marriage (Detroit) in 1858.
• Maria Elisabeth Holthoefer married Peter Keine in Helden (near Serkenrode) in 1864. She and her husband are found living in Detroit in 1867.
• Anna Holthoefer immigrated to Detroit about in 1867.
Origin Location in Germany
The Holthoefer family origins centers about Serkenrode, a small village located in the rural district (Kreise) of Olpe, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (Nordrhein-Westfalen). The area is known as the Sauerland, in the historic province of Westphalia (1815-1946).
