Note:
In reviewing the millers at the Bayermühle, we know about Bernhard Wurster, born about 1480, is mentioned in the Altwürttembergischen Lagerbuch, fol 266. In the next generation, we find Bernhard, married to Luzia NN. At his son’s birth Claus Wurster is sponsor. Therefore, it is assumed that Bernhard and Claus Wurster were brothers.

From the Altwürttembergische Lagerbücher, starting on page 266.

Bernard, the miller, has to pay a tribute 3 Pfennig 15 Shilling 7 1/2 Heller, at Easter, 25 eggs. There are 5 Mannmaht meadow (measured according to the time needed to mow it.) belonging to the mill. Furthermore he has to give 6 chicken for the loan of 1 Mannmaht meadow and 3 Mannmaht oat "hat sin eny sel. also umb die herschaft bestanden" (extract and translation of the Lagerbuch) .
In the Lagerbuch, Bernhard is not mentioned with his family name, Wurster, but with his profession, miller. His son Claus succeeds him at the mill and at various sponsorships he is called Claus Miller, too. It is assumed that this Bernard Wurstr is the father of Claus Wurster. Also, see the remark for his son, Bernhard.

The Baiermühle is a mill located in in the Köllbachtal, the valley of the Köllbach (Bach = creek), near Hornberg. It was the mill where the Wursters were miller for many generations. The Wursters are mentioned in the Altwürttembergische Lagerbücher and also the Zwerenberg church records starting from 1525 up to 1790. The Wurster family may be have remained on the mill for some further generations after 1790, but has not been researched in this report. The Baiermühle building still stands. Today, it is a restaurant.
