J. Wesley Dorland received $2,000 in 1901 from the estate of Zacharias Dorland (his father) by court order. Zacharias Dorland died in 1898 and left his estate valued at $30,000 to his third wife. J. Wesly Dorland sued his father’s estate to recover $2,000 that was pledged by Zacharias Dorland to his first wife (on her deathbed) in 1845. J. Wesley Dorland got a judgement and it was affirmed by the Appellate Court. 260
