Frederick Frank Hunt was a laborer, telephone company, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan (1910); 538 joined the U. S. Army at age 17; served near the Mexican border tracking down Francisco “Poncho” Villa. 539 Frederick Frank Hunt also had duty in Argonne Forest in France during 1917 where he was wounded and honorably discharged. Patient at Fort Sheridan in US Army Hospital, Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois (1920); veteran, resided (w/ mother), Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan (1930). He did receive medals and a pension.
Information provided by Willard Hunt (1979) indicates:
- Fred Hunt was born in the state of Washington.
- Fred Hunt joined the U.S. Army at age 17; also served near the Mexican border looking for Poncho Villa.
- Fred Hunt also served in France about 1917. He was wounded while in the Argonne Forest and received a pension (invalid).
- His Army medals were given to a lawyer in order that his mother would receive more pension. No increase in pension was ever received and the medals were never returned.
- Fred Hunt never married.
- Frederick Hunt resided at his mother's residence at the time of his death.
